Instead of promoting life-saving early treatment, the CDC instructed infected people to stay at home until they were so sick that they had to go to the hospital. And then, despite multiple positive clinical trials and meta-analyses of protocols utilizing cheap and readily available drugs such as ivermectin and others, the NIH rated the evidence supporting early treatment as neutral, thus discouraging most doctors from using these protocols.
